Mara's Pasta Review and Giveaway
This is Mara's Pasta. It is whole wheat artisan pasta. It is made with a unique combination of wheat to give it better taste and texture. It is higher in protein and fiber than other whole grain pastas. It also cooks faster than most other whole grain pastas.
I was sent this awesome gift box of products to review.
I love pasta. I was so excited to do this review. I was really hoping Mara's would be different. I was tired of all the mushy, tasteless whole grain pastas I was trying. So, I decided to cook dinner with Mara's right away. To make it interesting I decided to cook the fettuccine pasta. This would be the pasta that would mush if any of it would.
I made chicken alfredo with spinach and broccoli. It was yummy!! Onto Mara's Pasta. The fettuccine, to my surprise, did NOT get mushy as you can see in the picture. It cooked quicker than I expected as well. The real test was the taste....it was good. Still whole wheat, but good. It actually had some taste and the texture was perfect. All in all, I give Mara's a Thumbs UP!!
Note: Boogerhead was off spending the night with her best friend. This review I had to do alone.

TruKid Review
We always have to use a detangler. I hate most store brand ones, as they are sticky and smelly. Then I came across TruKid. They sell hair and body products for kids. The great thing is their products are free of harmful chemicals. They also have a great way for kids to use their products by themselves. Pictures!! There is a little label pic that has a face with squiggly hair and says "Hair". They also are in bright colored bottles and have silly names. Boogerhead loved this! I love that TruKid promotes kids taking care of their bodies and their planet.
This stuff smells fresh and isn't sticky. It also easily removed the tangles from Boogerhead's hair. And it kept it tangle free all day!!! That was the most AWESOME thing!!!
She didn't scream. She didn't cry. She just said, "Ow that stuff works great. It's not hurting really."
TruKid worked and it is now a staple in Boogerhead's hair arsenal. Thumbs Up!!!

Chobani Greek Yogurt Review
This is what I received UPS last week!!! Boogerhead was super excited to review Chobani.
First, let me educate you on greek yogurt. Greek yogurt is strained so the liquid whey is removed. With the whey gone it takes on a thicker, cheesier texture. It takes 4c. of milk to make 1c., whereas regular yogurt only takes 1c. of milk to make 1c. of yogurt. This does give greek yogurt more protein than it's opposite.
We have been eating them all week. I really like the texture of the greek yogurt. Boogerhead likes all the flavors. I've never been one for the soupy yogurts. I love that Chobani is thick and creamy. I also love that you can get some interesting flavors. They have pomegranate, mango, pineapple, raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, strawberry-banana,and even apple cinnamon. Boogerhead's favorite was raspberry.
Now, to the bad part. My husband had the strawberry-banana,which is his favorite flavor. Not so with Chobani. He liked the texture, but said it tasted nothing like strawberries or bananas. I loved all the flavors but one. The apple cinnamon. Not a particularly tasty combination in yogurt . With that said, all in all, Chobani is some delicious greek yogurt. It has a nice thick, creamy texture and amazing flavors.
And as you can see, Boogerhead gave it a thumbs up!

Boogerhead's Comments
Ok. So Boogerhead has been helping with reviews and stuff. She is my product model as well. So , I am pitching companies last night and she decides she should get to pick some. Yeah.....she made me pitch Stompeez and those Cuddleuppets. She wanted me to pitch American Girl Dolls, but I refused. The kid is getting good. She has also decided that any kid products we get in, she gets to do the review and I must type it up for her. I told her she had to start pitching on her own. She tells me"Just send them my picture and tell them the cute girl in the picture will be doing the review Mommy". If only it were that easy.
We do have some reviews coming up with Boogerhead as product model and one or two that will be mainly her words. So check back to see how well Boogerhead's new career goes! Don't forget to enter all the giveaways!!

Green Virgin Soapnuts Review and Giveaway!
Ok, this review will be slightly different than previous reviews, as I have a comparison product ( I purchased myself). I will not give the name of the other brand. I will only say they are a well known company. We will call them Bob's.
So ,I washed clothes this weekend using Bob's and Green Virgin soapnuts. First, we will discuss Bob's.
They are light in color. Relatively mild smell. Came with a wash bag. Bob's soapnuts.
I washed 3 loads with Bob's. My clothes smelled ok, they had alot of static, and were not soft like they claimed. I was disappointed.
Next, I washed with Green Virgin.
Notice they are darker in color. They smelled horrible!! Which is apparently a good thing according to my research. They are supposed to smell bad! These also came with a wash bag.
I again did 3 loads. These smelled fresh. Not like regular detergent smelling, just fresh. No static cling and they were soft.
Now, some info. You will use about 5 soapnuts in the wash bag. I have hard water and this is what I used. I also soaked my bag in a little hot water beforehand, as I wash in cold. I did not use anything else. After 3 loads, I think I can get 1 or 2 more loads with the same bag. The soapnuts get all yucky when their usefulness wears off.
A great thing about Green Virgin, is their soapnuts come with a tag explaining the other uses for soapnuts. There is also alot of great recipes online. Green Virgin use Sapindus Mukorossi soapnuts. These are the highest quality. Their prices are very reasonable.
And just for you men, a side note from my husband. I washed his hunting clothes with Green Virgin soapnuts and he was pleasantly surprised. NO SMELL!!! They are clean without having that detergent smell. Perfect for you hunters on a budget. A half pound bag of soapnuts, which will do about 83 loads, costs less than most advertised hunter's detergents. Deer beware!!
And thanks to the generosity of Green Virgin you can win your own 250gram bag (about half a pound).

Newmans Own Organics Review and Giveaway
As we all know I do reviews my way. To the point. I recently was given the opportunity to do a review for Newman's Own Organics. No they are not Newman's Own. They are a separate company started by Nell Newman. Originally, it was a division of Newman's Own but in 2001 became its own company with a totally separate line of products.
As you can see, we were sent a variety of products to try. My husband,Boogerhead, and I really enjoyed these products.
My husband's favorite was the peanut butter cups. They came in both milk chocolate and dark chocolate. I personally LOVED the dark chocolate peppermint cups!! Delicious!
Chocolate bars!! Dark and milk chocolate...even espresso.....
Pretzels...sticks, regular, and honey wheat(my husband's favorite...he ate half the bag!)
Mints!! Peppermint, wintergreen, hot cinnamon, and ginger. I liked them all but the ginger. I am just not into ginger. But, let me say the quality was awesome. They are strong. but not overly so. Reminded me of Altoids, but better. Such a natural flavor and not sugary like some mints.
Licorice! Sour cherry, sour apple (Boogerhead's fav), black, and pomegranate (my fav)
Boogerhead eating the last of the sour apple.
Let me say a few things about the licorice. First, the flavors they offer are impressive. Second, the taste is amazing. I really liked that the flavor wasn't overwhelming. It is just a hint. Last, but not least, the texture. It wasn't slick and squishy like store licorice. I found it firm and dry. I could eat it without having stuff on my hands.
This was by far my favorite. I love popcorn! This is microwaveable popcorn, but it is the best I have ever eaten. It pops all the way leaving very few unpopped kernels. The bag was full and puffy. When I opened it, I was in heaven. It has a light, buttery scent. The popcorn was so light. It was honestly the most wonderful popcorn I have ever had the pleasure of eating.
I will definitely be purchasing snacks from Newman's Own Organics for my family. We really enjoyed the wide range of products we were able to try. I would recommend their products to anyone. How can you beat delicious and organic!!

She was not a happy kiddo. She wants the readers to know that she SCREAMED!!! She says it hurt and everyone should leave her some pity comments to make her feel better. And she will check too!!!
Hopefully, I will sneak some pics of her at ballet tomorrow. Isn't she just the cutest little product tester? Yes, she actually helps with all product testing and reviews. Her opinion matters, at least to me.

Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil Giveaway!!
If you read my recent review of Tropical Traditions, you know how awesome their coconut oil is. Tropical Traditions is allowing me to do a giveaway. One lucky winner will win a quart of their Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil!
Win 1 quart of Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil!
Tropical Traditions is America’s source for coconut oil. Their Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is hand crafted in small batches by family producers, and it is the highest quality coconut oil they offer. You can read more about how virgin coconut oil is different from other coconut oils on their website: What is Virgin Coconut Oil?
Tropical Traditions also carries other varieties of affordable high quality coconut oil. Visit their website to check on current sales, to learn about the many uses of coconut oil, and to read about all the advantages of buying coconut oil online. Since the FDA does not want us to discuss the health benefits of coconut oil on a page where it is being sold or given away, here is the best website to read about the health benefits of coconut oil.

Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil Review
I have been really excited to do this review. My family and I are not coconut fans. Especially, my husband. Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil has many uses, however my review will strictly stick to cooking with it. When, I first received it I was surprised to find it is solid like lard. It has a slight coconut smell, but it is not overwhelming.
I decided to put it to the test by frying fish for dinner. I scooped out the solid oil and placed it in my fryer. Let me say, I put as much coconut oil as I would lard. Big mistake! With Tropical Traditions, you only need a little bit! I was in awe. I used about 2 1/2 tbs. It melts quickly too. I was again surprised to find that once melted it did not smell of coconut.
The coconut oil heated quickly even though I found it a bit thicker than other oils.
The fish fried to a golden brown and were quite tender.
Now came the real test! The taste!
I tried the first bite. It was delicious. And, once again I was pleasantly surprised to find that it did not taste like coconut. My 5 yr old ate 2 pieces. This is not normal for her. She loved the taste! My husband, ever the skeptic was last. He bit in and exclaimed "Hey this doesn't taste like coconut!"
Needless to say, the whole family approves. It's organic, requires less to cook with than other oils, and doesn't flavor your food. What more could you ask for.
Tropical Traditions has exceeded my expectations. They will exceed yours too. Check them out at
